An oxygen scavenger is a chemical formulation where one or more reactive compounds can combine with oxygen to reduce or completely remove oxygen in fluids and enclosed packaging. Also known as oxygen absorber in most cases, there are many other terms too used in the industries to describe the O2 scavenging function, which include: antioxidant, interceptor, and controller.
Key Features and Benefits
- Limit the amount of oxygen available for reactions that can lead to reduced functionality
- Can be used as corrosion inhibitor
- Maintains product safety and improve shelf life
Proper human safety products such as splash goggles, lab coat, vapour respirator, NIOSH approved gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush them with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected.
Oxygen Scavengers should be stored in original vented containers, away from heat, direct sunlight and combustibles. Store in a cool and dry place. Kindly refer label and SDS for details.
