PCM Positive Temperature

Phase Change Materials/ Media are chemical formulations that can alter their state of matter (viz., Freeze & Thaw cycle) without changing temperature. There are various types of PCM products for different phase change temperature and latent heat requirements. The range covers all products having phase change point from 0°C/ 32F to 115°C/239F. There are several factors that are considered while selecting a phase change material, some of them are:

  • Having high heat of fusion
  • Having high thermal conductivity
  • Having high specific heat and density
  • Having long term reliability during repeated cycling
  • Having dependable freezing behavior

Key Features and Benefits

  • Phase change temperature in desired range with sharp melting/freezing point
  • High latent heat of fusion (solid to liquid)
  • Non‐toxic & non‐carcinogenic
  • Commercially available at low cost
  • Does not react with and/or act as a solvent for packaging materials
  • Landfill disposable and/or waterway disposable
  • Biodegradable nature
  • Low/non‐flammable (high flash point, low vapor pressure)
  • Non‐corrosive

Handling Measures
and Precautions

Proper human safety products such as splash goggles, lab coat, NIOSH approved gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush them with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected.

Storage

Should be stored in original vented containers, away from heat, direct sunlight and combustibles. Store in a cool and dry place. Please refer label and SDS for details.
