RO Membrane Disinfectant
Continuous usage of reverse osmosis results into severe problems such as poor and contaminated permeate quality, reduced flow rate, increase in power and reduced productivity. With the application of membrane disinfectant, there is no requirement of chlorination then de-chlorination of feed water.
RO Membrane Disinfectant is ideally used for eliminating bio-fouling and biofilm from RO membranes. It is safe for potable RO systems. They have high efficacy rate for a broad spectrum of microorganisms.
High application rate, excellent scale protection, performance and quality improvement, with precise pH value are some of the salient features of this disinfectant.
The impact of bio-fouling can be minimized with the right biocide programme. The right biocide programme can reduce the need for membrane cleaning, reducing your overall cost of operation. These chemicals are membrane safe and can be used online or offline. These are safe and biodegradable, effective against a wide spectrum of microorganisms. When used in an online treatment programme, it should be dosed prior to the RO system to control bio-fouling.
The main goal of an effective biocide programme is to control bio-fouling in the membranes to an acceptable and cost effective level compared to cleaning programme and other associated costs.
Application frequency of any selected biocide will normally depend on biological fouling and biofilm growth rate. Application rates and application frequency (biocide programme costs Vs. effectiveness) Vs. reduction in cleaning frequency, downtime, membrane life (operational costs) should be balanced to determine the most cost effective biocide dosing frequency.
