PG Corrosion Inhibitor for Propylene Glycol Antifreeze

What is a Glycol Corrosion Inhibitor?

Glycol corrosion inhibitor for PG based systems is a specially formulated multi-metal corrosion inhibitor, preventing corrosion in a multitude of ways. This PG corrosion inhibitor modifies the metal surface by absorption, making it less susceptible to corrosion. It also buffers the organic acids which are formed as a result of glycol and water oxidation, preventing any further formation of acids.

What does a Glycol Corrosion Inhibitor do?

The corrosion inhibitor protects metal surfaces from corrosion without reducing the system’s heat transfer efficiency. Addition of corrosion inhibitor prevents copper and cu-alloys corrosion, corrosion on aluminum, steel and cast iron. It is well compatible with seals, o-rings, rubber hoses and other radiator engine components, improved closed loop system longevity and performance.

Metal acts as catalyst in any un-inhibited glycol solution for the formation of these acids, which then chemically attacks and corrodes system. Due to immense corrosion in system, the rust in the system metal makes the glycol turn red in colour, ergo increasing the glycol degradation rate. It is a broad spectrum corrosion inhibitor that improves metal surface by absorption and making it less vulnerable to corrosion. It is compatible and fully functional in glycol-water & glycol-ethanol (rectified spirit) mixtures and improves heat transferability.

Glycol in presence to heat and air degrades into five organic acids namely, Glycolic Acid, Glyoxalic Acid, Formic Acid, Carbonic Acid & Oxalic Acid
