Swimming Pool Biocide
Swimming Pools harbour a plethora of pathogens and contaminants coming over by defaecation, urine, blood and saliva from the swimmers. The primary duty of a swimming pool biocide is to kill and control bacterial growth. Swimming Pool Disinfectants need to meet certain standards, keeping a balance between broad spectrum disinfectant and nontoxic to humans coming directly in contact with. Swimming pool disinfectants need to be active and prolonged in action for long in little concentrations.
Unlike drinking water disinfection, swimming pool disinfectant need to be dynamic as contaminants are added to the pool continuously unlike drinking water which is disinfected, packed and done. In this way the water needs to keep up a leftover disinfectant concentration. The disinfectant must be effectively followed and measured and safe to use.
In swimming pool treatment the major treatment that is required is to prevent biofouling and prevention of algae, slime or virus in swimming water. As these days chlorine due to its high side effects come in contact with human skin like skin inflammation, irritation etc. Industries are switching to development of biocides thsat are environment friendly and non- toxic to human skin. Thus, the other methods of treatment are by using biodegradable oxidizing disinfectants based on peracetic acid and silver hydrogen peroxide. Both these biocides are highly oxidizing and highly effective on various bacteria.
Key Features and Benefits
- Non-oxidizing nature
- Skin friendly, does not cause itching or dryness
- Excellent removal of microbes from swimming pool
- Non-foaming, non turbid nature
- Fast Action
- Cost Effective Dosage
Proper human safety products such as splash goggles, lab coat, vapour respirator, NIOSH approved gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush them with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected.
Should be stored in original vented containers, away from heat, direct sunlight and combustibles. Store in a cool and dry place. Please refer label and SDS for details.
