Morpholine | CAS No. 110-91-8 | Amine Based Formulation | Boiler Corrosion Inhibitor
Morpholine is an organic amine-based formulation used as a boiler corrosion inhibitor. It finds widespread application across various industries such as the manufacturing of rubber accelerators, optical brighteners, curing agents, cleaning agents, anti-rust agents, fungicides, bactericides, and surface-active agents. It contains both amine and ether groups, used in a wide range of applications.
In boiler water treatment, morpholine helps increase the pH of boiler feed water to protect the boiler against corrosion.
How Does Morpholine Work?
Morpholine is obtained by dehydrating diethanolamine with sulphuric acid. Morpholines can utilized as pharma chemicals and antioxidants for lubricating oils.
It creates protective films on metal surfaces, inhibiting corrosion in steam boiler systems. It adjusts pH levels precisely, acts as an emulsifier, prevents scale formation, and disperses uniformly due to its vaporization characteristics. Its similar vaporization rate to water ensures uniform dispersion in both liquid and vapor phases when added to water, making it a preferred choice.
