Silica Descaling Chemical

Silica is considered to be the hardest deposit to be removed from heat exchangers like condenser tubes and boiler tubes. Removal of silicated scales help in easy removal of silica and silicate deposits. Silica being the only salt inside boilers which vaporizes at pressures below 2400 psig, vaporizing at pressures as low as 400 psig causing deposition problems in numerous turbines. The solubility of silica in steam increases with increased temperature. Deposits are formed when steam is cooled by expansion. Silica scales are hard, glassy adherent, making them difficult to remove. Thermal conductivities are usually very low and tube failures can occur with even very thin silica scales.

Silica Descalant is a blend of acids with inhibitors, specially formulated for removal of mineral scales, rust and silica scale deposits in water systems subject to deposit accumulation. Main objective tasks are descaling of condenser, evaporator, heat exchangers, evaporative condensers, boilers, geysers, solar heaters, blow molding machines, gear box, steel parts cleaning, vacuum pump decalcifying etc. High Silica Descalant is inhibited to protect cleaned surfaces from acidic attack.

Handling Measures
and Precautions

Proper human safety products such as splash goggles, lab coat, NIOSH approved gloves and boots should be worn while handling and applying chemicals. Splashes on the skin should be washed off with water immediately. In case of splashing into the eyes, flush them with fresh water and obtain medical attention. Should not be injected.

Storage

Should be stored in original vented containers, away from heat, direct sunlight and combustibles. Store in a cool and dry place. Please refer label and SDS for details.
