Poly Acid (Poly Protonic Acid)
Poly Acid is an organic acid that is unique in industrial sectors like textile, leather, nickel plating, etc. Generally it is used in place of acetic acid for dyeing and bleaching purpose and also find its application in textile scouring and pre-enzyme treatment.
Applications
- Helps in obtaining a pH of 4.5 to activate the cellulase enzyme
- Neutralizes the alkalinity of the bath, promoting whiteness and dyeing
- Functions as a reducing agent to convert hexavalent chromium to trivalent for mordanting
- pH of poly acid provides the correct range for slow dye bath exhaustion, producing shades
