Trichloroethylene or TCE (C2HCl3) is a chlorinated solvent based volatile, liquid, for use in industrial cleaning and degreasing applications. Heavy engineering industries like iron and steel manufacturers, power plants, oil refineries, automobiles, textiles opt for Trichloroethylene chemical for removal of oil, grease, fats, waxes, tars, lubricants and other hydrocarbon residues.
The advantage of using TCE for cleaning application is that it does not indulge in corrosive reaction with metal surface, even in the presence of moisture. It is soluble in organic solvents and slightly soluble in water.

Compatible with both normal as well as vaporizing cleaning, TCE can be used either as a solvent dip or as a spray chemical and directly applied on the oily / greasy components. In vapor cleaning or degreasing, TCE solution can be heated to its boiling point and then condensed into a pure liquid solvent which drips on the contaminated parts, dissolving and draining the contaminants away into the tank.
